Description Wild Rose Country - Times And Miles Spent In Nature, Jasper National Park - Alberta, Canada PhotographyJasper National Park is a national park in Alberta, Canada. It is the largest national park within Alberta's Rocky Mountains spanning 11,000 km2 (4,200 sq mi). Its location is north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park contains the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains. In central and northern Alberta the arrival of spring is marked by the early flowering of the prairie crocus anemone; this member of the buttercup family has been recorded flowering as early as March, though April is the usual month for the general population.[39] Other prairie flora known to flower early are the golden bean and wild rose.[40] Members of the sunflower family blossom on the prairie in the summer months between July and September.[41] The southern and east central parts of Alberta are covered by short prairie grass,[42] which dries up as summer lengthens, to be replaced by hardy perennials such as the prairie coneflower, fleabane, and sage. Both yellow and white sweet clover can be found throughout the southern and central areas of the province.Wikipedia
